About Our Program:
Mission Statement
Saint John's Parish has established a Preschool Program to meet the needs of the parish and community children, ranging from three to five years of age.
Our program endeavors to foster Christian Principles, and through age appropriate curriculum and "hands - on" activities, seeks to meet the individual needs of each child
Philosophy
Saint John's Preschool seeks to develop the total child so that he/she may become fully alive; physically, emotionally, intellectually, mentally and spiritually.
We believe that each child is unique and possess unlimited potential for growth, which must be stimulated and guided by "hands on activity", appropriate instruction and direction, given by qualified and sensitive teachers.
The program services children of every race, culture and social-economic background. It provides a variety of activities and experiences, which will challenge and encourage each child to develop at his/her own pace.
Through this program we seek to offer a challenge to each child to become complete, independent and happy.
Staff
All staff members have State clearences, references and the necessary qualifications to teach or assist with the classroom activities.
Class Schdule
Doors will be open at 8:55 a.m. and 11:55 a.m.
Enter and exit via the glass doors on the side by the Saint Francis Garden.
Children four years of age by September 1st attend Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am.
until 12:00 noon.
Children three years of age by September 1st attend Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am. until 12:00 noon.
Tuition
Monthly payments are due on the last Thurs./Fri. of each month for the coming month. Checks are to be made payable to Saint John's Preschool.
Payment may be deposited in the locked box, on the wall to the left, as you enter the hallway.
Cash payment must be in an enclosed envelope with the child's name, visibly, written on the front of the envelope.
$45.00 Non-refundable, Registration Fee
2 day program: $100.00 per month
3 day program; $150.00 per month.
10% discount for more than one child registered.
Arrival/Departure
Enter and Exit via the doors in the classroom area of the building.
Doors will open at 8:55 AM/11:55 AM
Weather Related Closings
If the E. Stdbg. school district is closed, Saint John's Preschool is also closed.
If E. Stdbg. school district has a two hour delay,Saint John's Preschool will open at 10:00 AM, dismissal will be, at 12:30 pm
If E. Stdbg. has a one hour delay, Saint John's Preschool opens at regular time
--9:00 AM
Discipline
When inappropriate behavior is noted the child will be informed and encouraged to use better choices when expressing his/her emotions. If this approach is not effective the child will be put in the "time-out" chair in hopes that he/she will think about what was done and how to react to the situation. If a child is guilty of continuous disruptive behavior, the parents will be notified and a course of action will be discussed.
Birthdays
We celebrate birthdays by enjoying a special snack, provided by the birthday child. We ask that the snack be such that it is easily distributed and eaten.
Party invitations, for private parties, are to be distributed outside the Preschool Classroom. This is to avoid any "hurt feelings" of the children who may not be asked to the celebration. If, however an invitation is to be extended to all the children in the class, the invitations may be handed out in the Preschool room
Monthly Snack Calendars
On the last Thursday/Friday of the month. a calendar will be distributed. This will note the day and date your child will be asked to bring snacks for the class.
