1. The office will be closed until further notice. We will still be monitoring the phones so please leave a message & we will get back to you. Please be patient as we are all working remotely so we might not get back to you immediately.

2. In the gravest circumstances, priests may make themselves available for these sacraments, taking care to follow CDC guidelines for personal  protection. The faithful are encouraged to follow the directive of the Holy See regarding perfect contrition that have been communicated to you in our regular updates.

3. All Daily & Sunday Masses will be celebrated privately, and the previously scheduled intentions will still be offered.

4. We will stream Stations of the Cross on Fridays at 7 pm, and the Saturday 4 pm Mass, on “Facebook Live and YouTube.”  Please do NOT attempt to attend these Masses.  The church will remain locked for safety sake during this time.

Dear friends,

Bishop Bambera has asked that this be distributed as widely as possible throughout the Diocese of Scranton.  For those who desire the forgiveness of sins through the Sacrament of Confession, this reminder will help you at this time.  As soon as the Bishop gives permission, I will make myself available for individual confessions.  For now, the more prudent decision is to stay home and stay safe.  Please be assured of my prayers for you.  May God’s Mercy be with his Church.

Fr. Reichlen

With the increasing difficulty for individuals to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation due to the current health crisis, the faithful of the Diocese of Scranton are reminded that by having perfect contrition one can receive the forgiveness of sins, apart from going to confession.

Perfect contrition requires the following three things:

  • A love of God above all else

  • A sincere desire for the forgiveness from sin

  • The resolution to go to confession as soon as possible when this health crisis subsides
